No, amyloidosis does not always occur with multiple myeloma. While about 15 percent of people with multiple myeloma develop AL amyloidosis, other plasma cell disorders or blood cancers can also lead to AL amyloidosis. These include:

- Various types of leukemia and lymphoma

Additionally, AL amyloidosis can develop independently of these conditions.
