I was referred to a Palliative Care consultation despite being in the early stages of cardiac Amyloidosis. It was a very positive experience. I was deeply impressed with how well the doctor and social worker understood my end of life wishes. I am glad that I have an early relationship with these health care practitioners.
Palliative Care has been wonderful, they manage all his pain meds. The team is so caring, empathic and I couldn’t imagine managing this path without them.
Thank you for your response, it helps a lot. I was a hospice volunteer years ago & palliative care was the step before. Everything has changed now, I am so happy that is covers medical, mental and spiritual concerns. We have deep faith, but the unknown is pretty scary! God bless you!
Being unfamiliar with 'palliative care', I Googled it and read what May clinic has to say. From that reading, looks like a good option.
