Do Any Of You With Wild Type Attr Take Beta Blockers?

A MyAmyloidosisTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

My husband's doctors are recommending he no longer take beta blockers, specifically metatoporol. He has taken this for years for PVCs. What are your doctor's saying about this? Does anyone know what the trouble with taking beta blockers is?

My doctors have not suggested them to me so i can't really respond one way or another. I really don't like taking pills so i only take what is prescribed..

I was taking Metoprolol for several months but was taken off recently. If you look in medical journals (I use Uptodate.com) they say that it is contraindicated for ATTR. It is often prescribed for Heart Failure but isn't so good for people with restrictive cardiomyopathy .

MaryMcRae, I do not take any beta blockers. My doctors are always going over all of my meds and I trust that they will tell when and what i should be taking..
