Joseph, I'm uncertain as to why you are asking the question about protein in urine. Protein can leak into urine due to dehydration, damaged kidneys, etc. There is an electrophoresis urine analysis test that is used to determine/diagnose what type of Amyloidosis (AL specifically or not) you have after a biopsy reveals the presence of amyloids in an organ or in tissue excised post release surgery for carpal tunnel. Or, if you had a PYP (pyro phosphate) scan that revealed a Grade 1-3 uptake of PYP into your heart rather than into your ribs, then the urine test will show if you have light-chain proteins (AL amyloidosis). A further Kappa-Lamda blood test for light chain proteins in your blood serum would further substantiate an AL form of amyloidosis. You said you were diagnosed with wtATTR-CM. It's possible but unlikely, that you have both forms of amyloidosis. It rarely occurs.
I hope that answers your question. Best regards, my friend.

Wild-type ATTR (wtATTR) amyloidosis is a type of amyloidosis caused by the transthyretin (TTR) protein. Here are some key points:

- Cause: It is caused by the TTR protein, but unlike hereditary ATTR amyloidosis, the TTR gene in wtATTR amyloidosis is normal and does not contain a mutation
- Previous Names: This condition Show Full Answer
