Yes. I have been taking Metformin for years….no problems.

Years ago I was diagnosed with impaired glucose tolerance and I was part of a clinical trial in which metaformin was one of the drug options. At that time it was considered the tried and tested medication for diabetes. What was interesting wa that for type 2 diabetes the most effective medication was ( for lack of a better word) exercise and we were told that it could reverse the onset of this form of diabetes. Since the study and my exercise routine I no longer have impaired glucose tolerance and never had diabetes.
I am sure a lot has changed since my clinical trial and others can provide you with more recent updates on metaformin and what else may be prescribed.

About fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and was put on metformin, and still take now. Diet and exercise will reduce the dosage that doctors prescribed and be careful because sometimes it can really reduce your blood sugar.
