Does Anyone Have This Disease In Their Voice Box? I’m Curious, Because That’s Where Mine Is Located

I also have localized laryngeal amyloidosis.

So far it’s been ok, my voice is no stronger but I do have less pain and discomfort after the scraping

Hi George - There is no meds or anything that I am aware of that will slow it. I have an article that says it usually stops growing after 7 years or so on its own.
For now, controlling my acid reflux seems to be the best remedy for me. Acid reflux usually irritates it more and causes pain and hoarseness so i’m taking omeprazole and famotidine to control it.
As for surgery, my doctors all advise me to leave it alone. They are saying the surgery risk is bigger than the reward. I disagree.

Hi Ray, is there any medication that you’re taking for slowing or trying to cure it? I had my vocal cords scraped to remove most of the build up.
