How Do You Cope With Seasonal Changes And Amyloidosis?
I just keep up the fight. I make sure I walk 10000 steps a day, I abstain from alcohol, caffeine, and sugar. I'm only 82 years old and not ready to give up yet.
I live in Pittsburg Pa and we are headed into fall and winter which I already loved. I do something constructive every day be it cleaning a room or two, painting (acrylics) or meeting friends for lunch. I also enjoy a glass of wine and 3 slices of cheese every evening before dinner. My doc knows and says it was a nice way to spend an evening. I am not changing my lifestyle more than i need to because of symptoms, although I did have to give up pickleball. I have AL with major heart involvement. I am 78 and plan to enjoy every day I get.
Hurray for us octogenarians. DJ I am proud of you, getting 10,000 steps each day. And no alcohol, caffeine, sugar! I also am abstaining from these, but I would really like to kick back and have beer or join my wife for a glass of wine. (Will do so when this is all over!!) As for my step count, it is pushing 7500 and that is my current limit. I am 84. vern
Added 11/8: Thanks to DJ's above comment, I pushed myself a bit the other day and got in my 10,000 steps walking with my wife. It was a beautiful autumn day.
And by the way, DJ, tell us more about yourself. Your exercise, life style are impressive. Where do you live?
i too have down days when the weather is hot. Maybe best to stay in cooler climates but warm weather is so much nicer than the cold.
Continue to follow exercise, medications, dress warm and watch diet. Will be 82 next Month not giving up.
