My bone marrow biopsy is scheduled for August 19th. I won't be able to see the oncologist with results until September 14th. I hope you find some answers soon. Prayers are coming your way too.

Fast diagnosis and treatment is key. If they’re not working fast enough for you get a second opinion!

The serum free light chain (SFLC) assay tests for the presence of immunoglobulins in the blood. Immunoglobulin light chains are parts of these proteins that usually bind to another part, called heavy chains, to produce effective protein strands. When the light chains do not bind, it indicates a problem with your plasma cells, which may indicate AL amyloidosis. The SFLC assay determines the number of free light chains in the blood and helps with diagnosis and monitoring the condition over time. If the numbers remain stable, amyloidosis is not getting worse. If the numbers improve, the person is likely responding well to treatment. An elevated number of free light chains may indicate the need to increase medication dosage or try a new treatment.

Wow Steve I thought my kappa level was high I haven't found any references online of how high levels can go the Onco/Hematologist I saw didn't even bother to call with the results and My PCP just wants to do the FLC test again 3 weeks from now and if they are still elevated refer me to another Dr Im in the Atrium Network in NC and most Dr appointments are 3 months out as are MRI scans etc.Our healthcare system has gotten awful since covid.I went to the ER for chest pain a few weeks ago and people were waiting over 10 hrs to be seen 30 to 40 people just walked out it's horrible here.Anyway I hope you find out what is going on with you.Prayers your way.
