Do you have confirmed localized amyloidosis and if so, which type is it? Is it cutaneous and on the surface of your skin or is it nodular in appearance, and causing lumps in the tissues? The lumps can be cut out but they may grow back over time. If the deposits are cutaneous, surgical removal would be much more difficult and extensive.

I have had localized amyloid on my lower lip and on the inside of my mouth since 1993. I had the "lump", surgically removed in 1993 and again in 1998 before we knew what it actually was, and each time it grew back. My correct diagnosis was finally made in 2006 and I then had radiation that helped stop any further growth.
