After 24 CyborD +D Treatments I’m Still Not In Full Remission, Or CHR. I Have AL Amyloidosis. What Is Next? How Can I Get Into CHR?
There are many other treatments that are available to try. I would question why they have not tried something else already since the CyBorD+D has not worked for you. See the chart below for other options.
Hi Jen
We live in Manchester NH. We have very good friends in Sunlakes & Gilbert, so near you. Keep fighting & stay the course, you will get through this. I know it’s different for all of us but be aware of neuropathy developing and/or worsening, it’s the Bortezimib, Valcade that is the culprit. I had to discontinue the Valcade about 16 weeks into my treatment & and I still had very good overall results. My STC was done at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. I’m basically in monitoring mode now, no longer producing new light chain proteins but still have remnant high levels; when I started the 24 hr urine analysis showed 16,500 mg/dcl, last reading was 5400. Like I said, keep plodding along, you’ve got this👍
I was in chemo for 14 months. It took 3 different combinations before I went into full remission. At this point in your treatment they should be looking for new combinations
Hi Jen

Hi Anthony
Thanks for your response. Do you have type AL Amyloidosis? Could you share the 3 combinations you had ?
