i had carpel tunnel surgery 25 yearts ago and i know have neoropothy from both shoulders to fingers. so i guess it is not always a sign. i slso have wild heart attr. had to buy an electric can opener because i hsve lost my strength. i am almost 90 yrs old , but lucky enough to manage living alone good luck

Sorry Stephen, I can’t offer good news from England. I have Wild Type Amyloidosis. I’ve had surgery on left wrist 3 times and twice on right but now have constant
serious pain in left hand and moderate in right - and have accepted that there’s nothing further can be done.
It’s tough getting old !

Before my ATTRwt diagnosis three years ago, I had my first carpal tunnel operation and then 2 years after that, I had my second wrist operated on for carpal tunnel. Wish I had known that carpal tunnel was related to Amyloidosisback back then but doctors never thought of it. Doctors need to know some of these symptoms to help get earlier diagnosis of ATTR.
