Numbness In The Fingers
Anybody having issues with numbness in the fingers I have non-hereditary cardiac AL
Thank you Nancy! I think I’ve had Cardiac ATTR for a while now even though it’s just being diagnosed. I had carpal tunnel surgery about 12 years ago and trigger on all my fingers and that may have been the start right there. I have a appointment to see a hand surgeon at that I’ll ask for a test deposits, they find the confirm if it was caused by cardiac Att. Thank you so much for your response.
Hi James,
Is the numbness in both hands? If so, perhaps (like me) you have “bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). The bilateral version of CTS is often a symptom of ATTR Amyloidosis. The amyloids can thicken your transverse carpal ligament, causing pressure on your median nerve. Here’s an overview of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from Johns Hopkins. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditio...
I learned of my Amyloidosis after CT release surgery on my right hand last month. My wise surgeon collected a specimen of the carpal ligament for biopsy, and the tissue did have amyloid deposits.
I’m so glad I had that CTS warning sign. My hand is much better already and now I am eager to get the same surgery for my left hand.
Best wishes, Nancy
