My daughter has not been tested, but my son had heart failure 23 years ago and they called it idiopathic. Good thing the disease was advertised.

Great question. My ancestors have passed, but my mom had CHF; so it could have been. She passed at 93. Looking on death records of ancestors on ancestry.com I found cardiomyopathy. I suspect it was V1221. My son has the variant, but my daughter has not tested and says she is healthy.

Thank you. My mother passes from it in 2020 after being diagnosed in 2019. We figure her dad had it and his father too. They both died suddenly from a heart attack. My grandfather kept losing weight but eating everything. His doctors brushed it off. So sad nothing was available for them not even being tested. I have 4 siblings and only one got tested and he was negative for the gene. The rest do not want to know at this time.
