I have had wild type amyloidosis, of course, the malformed proteins are coming from the liver. Back in 2019 I spent a day at Methodist Hosp. in the Houston Medical Center seeing if I were a candidate for both Heart and liver transplants. The doctor said that I could use both of them but because of my age they would not proceed with the implantation.Hope this helps, Jim Jones

Jim, I’m so sorry to hear you are not a candidate for transplants. I don’t yet know what type of amyloidosis I have - just know that it is is extensive in the liver. Thanks for your response and I wish you the best.
