Has Anyone Got Approved For SSD For Cardiac Amyloids Or Neuropathy
If you do apply make sure you talk about how the Amyloidosis CM with Neuropathy has debilitated you. By the way you have the same as me. I have cardiac and neuropathy involvement with my hereditary Amyloidosis.
I think the normal time for getting SSI is about 2 years. I didn’t have a lawyer but I had terrible back problems when I applied for disability SSI. After I reached 65 it automatically converted to regular SSI. I didn’t find out about Amyloidosis until I turned 69. But like I said I didn’t have to get a lawyer. I just took my chances and completed the application myself. I had lots of documentation from doctors and hospitals. I’d had 3 surgeries and my lumbar spine was completely fused. I also had swelling in my legs ankles and feet that was so bad I could hardly walk on them. I was in really bad shape. Before my 3rd surgery the doctor told me I was looking at the likelihood of living in a wheelchair if I didn’t get the operation. My spine was 75% full of stenosis. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further. Bev
Yes but it’s a very long process. You should have a lawyer handle it for you. I have AL and it took me 2 years to finally get it.
Thank you will do I’m in an electric wheelchair just started the process hope u doing well
