Sarcoidosis & Amyloidosis

A MyAmyloidosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Stavanger, NO

Is there any other members who have been diagnosed with both Sarcoidosis & Amyloidosis? My husband has had chronic sarcoidosis for over a decade and recently been diagnosed with Amyloidosis, we don't know the type of Amyloidosis yet (more tests pending).

His chronic sarcoidosis is pretty rare but Amyloidosis is even rarer here in Norway (only 50 in entire country) so the combination of the two makes him a bit of an outlier. Wondering if anyone else has any experience with this?

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease and can be cured. Sarcoidosis is a non-infectious immune-mediated disease and it cannot be cured, its an auto-immune disease, for some it goes away on its own but for others they have it for life and its treated by suppressing the immune system.

The only similarity is they are granulomatous diseases but they cause different types of granuloma, so they are distinctly different.

I had been diagnosed of Tuberculosis but confused with Sarcoidosis. Can you suggest the categorical difference between the two diseases.
