How Important Is The Ejection Fraction In Your Evaluation?
Ejection fraction measures the percentage of blood that your heart’s left ventricle pushes out with each beat. It is one measurement of overall heart function. The number decreases as heart failure worsens.
Google it but I believe anything below 60 is good.
Frank2 here. I don't know how important the EF is. Mine was 50 at last exam and was informed by doc that this was an improvement over the prior measurement; however, I don't understand the significance of the number. I have cardiac amyloidosis of wild type, was diagnosed at MassGeneral four years ago, and in my ninety-fourth year. Sorry I cannot provide you with any meaningful information about EF.
