Has Anyone With Postural Hypotension Been Able To Come Off Their Meds?
I’m on midodrine and my cardiologist is trying to wean me off slowly but my blood pressure goes low again but only at certain times.
I was on midodrine 20 mg 3x a day. I’m now down to 10 mg 3x a day with the goal of being off of it completely. For me, pretty sure it’s not the chemo.
Another thought: Set some walk challenges within your house. Use a walker if needed. Put on some music, maybe some 'sing-along'. Sneak in a rest once in a while by pausing and looking at your favorite what-ever. Set up a spread sheet to track your progress.
I am also on midodrine for low blood pressure. Doc just upped the dosage, trying to get my blood pressure up. Being a senior athlete for the last 20 years (100,000 miles bicycling), my BP tends to be low. My BP is lowest when I get up in the morning, and rises gradually as I get into the day. I can raise it by first walking 10-15 minutes.
What medicine are you taking for postural hypotension? I have but not on medication except for hypertension!
When I finally left hospital I was on Midodrine, Flurocortisone and Droxidopa, a total of 15 tablets a day, my blood pressure would drop to 60/40. Since the chemo and Dara I have managed to get the medication down to 2 Droxidopa a day. Tried getting it down to one and none but had issues and had to go back to the two. It's working ok so far, not feeling dizzy but do feel sick to my stomach at times which makes it hard to walk for a long period of time.
