Does Onpattro Help Wild Type Amyloidosis?
Is Onpattro treatment for wild type Amyloidosis?
I am not sure but I read that if you get the infusions done in a hospital, Medicare coverage is greater. I could be completely wrong about that
My UnitedHealthcare Medicare pays for my onpattro infusion. I have it done in the hospital every 3 weeks. I seen what it cost everytime I gets it. I will have a heart attack from that bill range from $116,000 to $235,000. Thanks to Medicare I don’t spend a dime.
Please check your Medicare benefits with whoever is your agent or directly with Medicare.
I got treatment at the medical office. And I think Medicare covers some but out of pocket is hundreds of thousands.
It is a "silencer" drug that stops some or much of the production of TTR in your liver. My Amyloidosis specialist wants to get me started on the infusions ASAP once she has access to Patisiran (Onpattro). It was originally tested in clinical trials only for hATTR.
My understanding is that it should work in the same way on patients with wild type Amyloidosis.
